| METHOD OF GROUND SETTLEMENT AND DEFORMATION PREDICTION IN URBAN TUNNEL CONSTRUCTION WITH CROSS DIAPHRAGM METHOD |

Abstract Based on the theory of stochastic medium theory，a new urban tunnel movement and deformation prediction programme is developed，and the formula is modified. It is reliable to predict the ground settlement，inclination，curvature，lateral movement and lateral deformation due to tunnel excavation with cross diaphragm(CRD) method. A case that has been applied to prediction of the ground settlement and deformation of the first subsea tunnel constructed with large cross-section in China shows that the prediction method is effective；and it can provide valuable references to practical engineering.
