Abstract Geo-dynamic division method based on the theory of plate tectonics is a new way to conduct region prediction of mine dynamic phenomena. With the cost being low，implementation simple，the method has wide application prospect. This paper has briefly introduced the geo-dynamic division method and its application in Pingdingshan mining area.
