Abstract In this paper, the failure mechanism and mode of post-embedded bars in concrete subjected to tension is investigated. The ultimate anchorage strength of the bars under mixed bond-cone failure mode is analyzed. Comparison with test results is made. The influence of parameters such as bond thickness, behavior of bonded materials, strength of concrete, anchorage depth, group bar effect,on the anchorage behavior is discussed also.
