EFFECTIVE STRESS AND COLLAPSE PROCESS OF
UNSATURATED LOESS |

Abstract In this paper，the collapse test with increasing moisture for Weibei Zhangqiao unsaturated loess is studied. The curves of -p， -( － )， -q，as well as -( － ) are obtained respectively. The parameters defining effective stresses，xp and xq，are determined through curves of - and - . Using these results，the variation of effective stresses under collapse condition with increasing moisture for unsaturated intact loess can be estimated.
