Abstract Based on the analysis of stress path characteristics，influence depth of reinforcement and mechanism of consolidation deformation，this paper reveals the characteristics of stress and deformation in the bridge-slope subgrade reinforced by vacuum well-point dewatering combined with equal preload. By comparison of the settlements determined by conventional grouting method and by proposed method，it is proved that the proposed method is reasonable and economical.
