| STUDY ON MONITORING AND BACK ANALYSIS FOR ROAD TUNNEL WITH COMPLEX GEOLOGY |

Abstract The items and methods of monitoring for expressway tunnel constructed by NATM with complex geology are discussed. Back analysis is made by using monitored data with extended Kalman filter-FEM and the time-varying estimation of the distribution of internal shear strain and plastic zone are obtained. Result shows that the distribution of plastic zone for rock mass is asymmetrical and it is in agreement with the monitored data. The internal development state of surrounding rocks is revealed and valuable guidance is provided for optimizing construction method.
