Abstract According to the NATM construction monitoring practice of Xishanping tunnel of Yuhe-freeway (from Chongqing to Hechuan),the deformation character of surrounding rock masses of the tunnel through coal and working out area is analysed,The dynamic construction state is modeled by FEM,and the calculation result is verified with the displacement monitoring data.
