Abstract The regu larity of the dynam ic sub sidence f ractal increm en t of the ground su rface po in t is revealed fo r the f irst t im e. The research resu lt s indicate that the dynam ic sub sidence cu rves of the ground su rface po in t show stat ist ical f ractal character and fo llow the f ractal increm en t model of the shape of large“z”in laid w ith sm all“z”. The f ractal in terpo lat ion in the dynam ic sub sidence cu rves of the ground su rface po in t is realized. Based on lim ited sub sidence data ob served in site, the sub sidence value of the ground su rface po in t at any t im e can be evaluated in certain p recision. Th is gives a new w ay to p redict the dynam ic sub sidence and dynam ic defo rm at ion of the ground su rface po in t. A t the sam e t im e, th rough the regu larity of the dynam ic sub sidence f ractal increm en t of the su rface po in t, the physical m echan ism of in terio r rock movem en t and dam age is disclo sed, w h ich is of theo ret ical impo rtance to study m in ing sub sidence.
