Abstract:A calculation method of earthquake-resistance design of simply-supported girder bridge using rubber branch seats is proposed. With the example of the Suqian Bridge, the earthquake induced stresses in both vertical and horizontal directions are analyzed. The results show that the lower part of the bridge is controlled by earthquake induced stresses,with large vertical and horizontal stresses. It can be concluded that good bridge design can only be achieved through a combination of scientific design methods and effective earthquake-resistance measures.
