Abstract:A method to detect the integrity of bored piles with mud intercalated based on the temperature measurement technology with optical fiber was proposed. The measurement apparatus and process were introduced in detail. The basic principle of this method was described by the heat-transfer process between the optical fiber and bored pile. Integrity pile model tests were carried out. The linear relationships between the temperature rise and heating power were obtained. The differences of temperature rise of optical fiber in bored pile and in air were compared. The tests about piles with mud intercalated were carried out containing four different kinds of clay contents,33.3%,50%,66.7%,and 100% respectively. The relationships between the heating power and the optical fiber temperature rise were analyzed and a good linear relationship was discovered. The results indicate that the method is feasible for integrity detection of bored pile with mud intercalated.
