Abstract:Based on the feasibility analysis of compressed air energy storage in deep rock salt stratum in China, experimental study and theoretical analysis of sealability of rock salt cavern for energy storage are carried out. According to the datum of triaxial compression test for Yingcheng rock salt, the compaction-dilatancy boundary(CDB) of rock salt can be expressed by hyperbolic function for better applicability than the parabolic function, which often used for fitting the CDB of rock salt. Based on the analysis of the expression of compaction-dilatancy theory of rock salt in the principal stress space, the definition and expression of dilatancy approach index(DAI) are proposed. The sealability of rock salt cavern can be analyzed based on the compaction- dilatancy boundary(CDB) theory and a corresponding example is proposed.
