Abstract:Based on T. Belem¢s theory for three-dimensional surface roughness, the local aspect concept is introduced, which is closely related to the directions of shear and seepage. By defining the local tilt angle and aspect after the three-dimensional geometric shape discretization, the JRC estimation method of the three-dimensional surface roughness parameters for describing the characteristic of anisotropy is proposed and compared with traditional methods, which can reflect the obvious anisotropy of rock fracture well for grasping the association characteristics of surface geometric characteristics¢s effect on its mechanical characteristics of rock fractures, while the deviation of the JRC result of traditional method neglecting anisotropy is 15%–35% with actual situation.
