Abstract：On the basis of undisturbed samples obtained from the municipal solid waste landfill，the laboratory measurements are performed using the large direct shear tests. According to the results，some factors that effect on shear strength parameters are analyzed preliminary. The field measurements are also been performed using the pressuremeter tests. The method used to calculate shear strength parameters of the solid waste by pressuremeter curves are presented.
