Abstract:Based on the mechanism analysis of frost-heaving force emerging in the retaining structure with row-piles and frozen soil wall for deep foundation pit,releasing-pressure holes are used to reduce horizontal frost-heaving force. By numerical simulation,the values of horizontal frost-heaving force against row-piles are obtained in the condition with or without releasing-pressure holes. The results indicate that using releasing-pressure holes can sharply reduce the horizontal frost-heaving force against row-piles, and the relationship between horizontal frost-heaving force and thickness of frozen soil wall is given out. The research results can provide designing basis for engineering practice of the new type of retaining structure.
