Abstract:Analysis of nonlinear consolidation for saturated soft soil under cyclic loading is of importance in engineering practice. This paper deals with the behavior of one-dimensional nonlinear consolidation of one layer soil under cyclic loading by applying the method of Laplace transform to the nonlinear consolidation of saturated soil model. Solution is presented in inverse Laplace transform. Some characters of one dimensional nonlinear consolidation of saturated soft clay under cyclic loads are explored. Some useful results obtained from several kinds of commonly encountered loadings are illustrated in the paper,which are meaningful to engineering practice.
