Abstract In th is paper, by u sing the non2linear visco2elast ic model based on rock m e2
chan ical test s, the t im e2dependency of ground characterist ic cu rve of tunnel is invest igat2
ed. It is found that the variat ion of characterist ic cu rve w ith t im e is clo sely related to the
t im e dependen t behaviou r of rock, especially the loading rate dependen t behaviou r and
po st failu re region behaviou r. A nd by sim u lat ion of suppo rt react ion line, the relat ion be2
tw een ground characterist ic cu rve and suppo rt react ion line is discu ssed.
