Abstract Sonoprobe method has been applied in non-destructive inspect of bolt-supported engineering. The fundament of sonoprobe method is that dynamic transient excitation causes the elastic vibration of bolt,and the limit bearing capacity can be estimated or deduced by determining the transient response of the bolt. As a non-linear dynamic system,artifical neural networks are applied to predict the limit bearing capacity of bolt and good result is obtained.
