Abstract A new“energy-fault”identifiable method is presentded for integrity detection of piles. This method is based on the energy distribution in different frequency bands and using wavelet transform. The low strain tests are carried out for various model piles with different defects. Through the multiresolution analysis of test signals，different kinds of defects could be identified. Therefore，the wavelet transform paves a new way for the signal process of pile integrity testing.
