Abstract The slope engineering in Fujian province，China，especially the expressway construction in the mountainous area is introduced. The engineering types of slopes are outlined practically for the survey，design，construction and the uphold of the slope engineering. On the basis of study on the engineering geological models and the relative failure mechanism of similar soil slopes，a series of methods to analyze slope stability are proposed，and the principle and measure of slope reinforcement design are put forward.
