DEFORMABLE AND RUPTURABLE BLOCK MODEL FOR 3D
DISTINCT ELEMENT METHOD |

Abstract The deformable and rupturable block model is given for 3D distinct element method based on the rigid block model(plane to plane contact types). This method can be applied to stability analysis of rock slope，and the joints of rocks and the rupture failures in the rocks are considered. In order to justify this method and its computer program，a sample is given to show the rupture of slopes. The results of computation shows that this method is feasible and reasonable.
