Abstract After introducing the principle and classification of computerized tomography (CT) technique，the applications and progresses are discussed of elastic wave tomography，electromagnetic wave tomography and resistivity tomography in detection of incipient fault for dam. The practical examples demonstrate its application effects and show that there is a broad prospect for tomography technique in detection of incipient fault for dam.
