| APPLICATION AND DISCUSSION OF DMT |

Abstract Flat dilatometer test (DMT) procedure is introduced in detail. The field data obtained with DMT method in a case are compared with the data from other tests. According to the actual geological condition in Nanjing，several empirical formulas are suggested. And the engineering applications of DMT are discussed in some aspects.
