Abstract During pits dewatering，non-uniform settlement of buildings has systemic and uncertain characteristics. The prediction model for the building settlement is suggested according to grey system theory. The engineering practice proves that MGM(1，n) model possesses rather better precision and forecast reliability comparing with GM(1，1) model，which will have positive influence on settlement prediction.
