Abstract In a foundation pit in Beijing，the composite soil nailing technology is adpoted. Prestressed anchor bolts and tube piles are added in soil nailing structures in this project，and the deformation is effectively controlled. Based on the engineering practice，the design method and execution techniques of the technology are introduced. Some problems in execution and the appropriate measures are also presented. The construction experiences are summarized for extending the application of the technology in urban areas.
