INVESTIGATION AND MECHANISM ANALYSIS OF THE MAJOR SECONDARY HARMFUL FROZEN-SOIL PHENOMENA ALONG QINGHAI—TIBET RAILWAY

Abstract A number of secondary harmful frozen soil phenomena were found along Qinghai—Tibet railway which are being developed since the completion of construction of the railway. The distribution laws and danger of these phenomena are discussed. These are mainly caused by disturbance of ground water condition and thermal stability. Some key principles to control these disasters are also discussed.
