Abstract The secondary splitting grouting can greatly increase the anti-pulling capacity of anchor cables in the soft ground stratum. The mechanism of the increasing of the anchorage capacity is discussed in detail. The theoretical formulas of the anchorage capacity and a simplified calculation method are provided. The results are significant to the design and construction of anchor cables with secondary splitting grouting.
