Abstract Viscosity of grouts is an important factor in grouting which is the main method in groundwater governance. Research on time-dependent behavior of viscosity is very necessary. Laboratory tests were performed and the data was analyzed. Viscosity and temperature were measured using vibrating type viscometer for two fast curing grouts，cement-sodium silicate and polymer modified cement grout. Variation of viscosity and temperature with different water-cement ratios and volume mixing ratios of the grouts were analyzed. Reaction progress was classified to three periods according for viscosity behavior. Data fitting was done with viscosity of grouts measured，and equations of time-dependent viscosity were obtained. Adapation of different fast curing grouts was discussed.
