EQUAL ARC METHOD FOR STABILITY ANALYSIS OF FOUNDATION PIT AND ITS VISUAL SOFTWARE DESIGN

Abstract:A new stability analysis method——equal arc method(EAM) is presented. Based on this method,the soil upon the most dangerious slip plane is divided into a number of vertical soil-slices whose lengths of arc are equal. The safety factor of stability is a function of geotechnical parameters,retaining and protecting parameters,distribution of ground load,state of foundation pit excavation and circle-center-coordinates of the most dangerious slip plane. The visual software is developed and an engineering example is introduced.
