METHOD FOR DETERMINING LONG-TERM STRENGTH OF DISCONTINUITY USING SHEAR CREEP TEST

Abstract:According to the first and tenth discontinuity lines from Barton?s ten standard lines,shear creep test under different normal stress levels on biaxial rheological testing machine was conducted using cement mortar pouring artificial joint surface. Based on the creep test results,the transition creep law,isochronous curve and the first inflection point method were adopted to determine the long-term strength of the first and tenth discontinuity lines. Then,the differences of the long-term strength determined by these methods were analyzed and compared;and the deficiencies and reasonableness of these three methods were analyzed theoretically and experimentally. This study is an improvement of the theory and application for long-term strength analysis of rock mass.
