Abstract:The Xietan landslide body can be regarded as an interbedded structure with three permeable layers (slope wash, landslide deposit deposit, and effected zone of the landslide) and two relatively impermeable layers (sliding zone and foundation rock),so it is important to consider the coupling action of seepage and stress in the slide to evaluate the stability of landslide. The coupled seepage and stress fields in the Xietan landslide are analyzed by means of the continuum model when the reservoir water level reaches elevation of 175 m. The hydraulic head distribution in the landslide, the uplift pressure distribution along the bottom of sliding zone and the distribution of stress components are obtained based on the analysis. The results show that the interbedded structure is adverse to the stability of the Xietan slide, and the coupling action has more important effect on the stress field than on the seepage field.
