Abstract:Based on test principle of ground penetrating radar(GPR),the application feasibility for detecting the surrounding rock loose zone is verified. By using ground penetrating radar of LTD–2100 to monitor Fubang tunnel,we can get the results that:the thickness of surrounding rock loose zone in a tunnel under unsymmetrical loading is larger than that of traditional in geological bedding strata,the loose range at larger pressure side is more apparent than the other side,and the position with maximum loose range usually appear at the spandrel or vault. According to the monitoring results,the lining design program and accident removal countermeasures for the tunnel under unsymmetrical loading in geological bedding strata are proposed. And combining with actual measurement in field,the feasibilities of operation and application,which utilize ground penetrating radar to detect the surrounding rock loose zone are discussed. It could be verified the feasibility of testing surrounding rock loose zone with ground penetrating radar,which could also provide an effective guidance for the excavation and support construction of Fubang tunnel.
