Abstract:The reinforcement effects of prestressed anchorage cable are studied on the high shiplock slope of Three Gorges Project by means of numerical simulation using the 3-D explicit finite difference method. The results show that a compressive zone is formed on the surface of rockmass during the tensile process. As a result of reinforcement of numbers of cables, the continuous compressive zone namely, rock anchored wall is formed under the combinative action of prestressed anchorage cables and system anchor bolts. Thus, the deterioration of the property of rockmasses is prevented, the deformation of slope decreased and the stability of slope improved.
