Abstract:Considering the cracking of expansive soils, seepage characteristics of expansive soil slope are studied under circumstance of rainfall infiltration. Numerical analyses on slope stability are conducted accordingly. Simulation results show that there are obvious differences between numerical simulations with and without considering cracks in expansive soils. The field tests and numerical analyses show that it is essential to include the crack condition in the stability analysis of expansive soil slope with rainfall infiltration.
