Abstract：Based on plastic limit equilibrium method in rockmass，a new definition method of safety factor is given by energy work rate. Furthermore，the reasonable value of the energy safety factor about single plane sliding of rockmass is studied，and the suitable data for energy safety design method in rockmass slopes with bolts are obtained. A simple design method for reinforcement of rockmass slopes with bolts is given with an engineering example.
